PET/MRI Solutions

PET/MRI scanners, which combine positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), can simultaneously provide metabolic and anatomical information vital to elucidate disease mechanisms, particularly in cancer. It can also detect brain disorder diseases such as Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s at the earliest stage which allows for the prescription of medication to halt its progress.

As such technology is developing, Ceresensa has committed its resources to fulfill the need for optimized RF resonators supporting the technology, and is taking the challenge to develop the first optimized and nearly invisible 32 channels head resonator for PET/MRI.

Ceresensa, in collaboration with Lawson Health Research, who has the first Siemens Bioraph mMR installation in Canada and one of the first in the world, is manufacturing a 32 channel head resonator.

The first prototype 32 channel head resonator will be capable of operating with MR performance comparable to conventional (MR only) resonators and being as transparent as possible to the 511keV of the Biograph mMR.

For this, the company is continuously investigating novel proprietary use of novel materials and design paths while mentoring new implementers of the technology.

In December 2014, Ceresensa Inc. introduced the first Transparent-PET/MRI, 32 Channels RF Resonator for Simultaneous Head Imaging at 1.5 and 3.0T. The KMV1 32 phased arrays is compatible with Siemens Biograph mMR.

KMV1

The KMV1 is a new front for molecular imaging, allowing high resolution anatomical brain images, while covering up to the 95th percentile of adult human head size.

U-map is developed and tested for compatibility with the Biograph mMR.

- KMV1 can be used:

• Without U-map, resulting in less than 1% attenuation of gamma.
• With U-map, achieving a near zero gamma attenuation.

- KMV1 offers two modes of operation:

• Semi-acquisition, individual Anterior/Posterior.
• Full-acquisition, both Anterior/Posterior.

Ceresensa offers a wide range of PET/MRI compatible RF Resonators customised to your research needs.
